Default Puppy illness and schedule now gone very awry...

Pre Bodhi (14 weeks) getting a bout of diarrhoea we had got him into a very settled routine. Meals - 3 times a day, toilet habits - always poos and wees before bed and he was sleeping in his crate (based in the kitchen) through the night (10-6). Basically a star puppy really.

However since his bout of diarrhoea he's been all over the shop We were advised to go to 5 smaller meals a day which we did and he ended up having to come and sleep in our room through the night while he was ill as he needed to go out frequently through the night and wouldn't settle in his crate (understandably).

His bottom habits finally started to improve yesterday so we tried to put him in his crate last night but he went CRAZY. Very distressed. Would not settle at all so after 3 hours of trying (taking him out to toilet, putting him back into crate etc), he came in with us again. This morning we took him out for a walk pre work and he did his number 2's (yay) so I thought I would be safe to pop into town for a couple of hours. Wrong! I came back to be confronted by a poo-nami in the kitchen (first time ever).

So my question is, how best to proceed? I don't want him to be uber distressed and unhappy but how do we get him back into his pre-diarrhoea routine?

2ndhandgal will become famous soon enough

You need to go back to baby steps with him - so maybe crate in your bedroom to get him used to sleeping in the crate again and leaving for just a few minutes and building up gradually

I'm happy to hear his tummy is better. Love this new word "poo-nami"!
