We visited Jukee Doodles and put a deposit down but then came across Flo's litter via a Preloved homebreeder and feel in love with her deep apricot colouring and the rest is history. Stephen and Julia at Jukee Doodles were great. I have never had a dog before and we visited twice, they gave us lots of info and advice and on the second visit we took the 'girls' out to field to play ball so we could get to know them. My son even got to have a whizz round on Stephens quad bike. A great couple with some lovely dogs and you get to see both the 'mums' and 'dads'. I'm going tp post more pics of Flo later this evening so look out for them.

If it is Lady Doodles McFester you saw on Flikr then yes she is the image of Flo (my dog is called Flo not Embee, embee is my forum username). He takes great photos and captures the colour well. On a lot of my pictures of Flo she looks quite washed out but is quite a dark orange. If you haven't seen the McFester dog on Flikr then look here http://www.flickr.com/photos/16545729@N03/3335572536/ She is one of Jukee Doodles puppies!

I agre Dylansmum ... how can you walk away, unless something is really bad. Are they a home breeder? Where did your friend get her puppy from ? x

I'm the opposite to you - I'm really impulsive. Once I decided to look at cockapoos I had to have one straight away so I spent hours on the phone until I found one fairly near. Luckily I had the pick of the litter and they were all so gorgeous there was no way I was going home without one. I don't think that my breeder was particularly good, but once I had cured the fleas and the tummy problems, I still ended up with a fabulous puppy.

Id speak to your customers just to get an idea... but i assume you ve spoken to the local breeder you should get an idea from talking to her make sure she only breeds from her bitch once a year, see if you can see the dad as well and ask if they parents are optigen eye tested. Also I spoke to one home breeder and the pups werent first generation they were F1b a cockapoo mum and a poodle dad , which is ok if thats what you want . A home breeder is ideal if you talk to them and get a feel cos if the pups are raised in a home environment with all the noises and handling they could nt get a better start. Not that dangerous to visit ... more a figure of speech .. you need to .. I walked away from one breeder even though the pups looked lovely cos they had cockapoos in this pen labradoodles in this pen and so on and so on ... did question when i got home though whether I should just have had one.. if its not right you'll be able to walk away . Talk to them then go and see ... good luck trust your judgment x x

You can still end up with a great dog. A bad breeder will still produce good dogs, a testament to how wonderful dogs are really. But it's good to promote good breeders and help people steer clear of those breeders who aren't so great.
