The report this button

Hi

I wonder if everyone is aware of the report this button at the top right corner of posts. It looks like a wee warning triange. When you hit it it opens into a form where you say why you want to report it.

Ive used it several times over the past few days when I have seen personal attacks and nastiness.

It alerts Kendal to any potential problems and lets her check it out to see if she agrees with you that it needs dealt with. I'm not trying to add to her workload but make it easier to see where there may be someone out to stir things up which seems rife at the moment.

I thought it might be useful to point out in case some of you had seen posts that you felt were not appropriate or fair and didnt know what to do about it.

I know it's there but haven't ever used it, not sure why, I just either ignore rude/nasty posts or I reply with what I think to it, but I understand it would help Kendal to decide whether or not it stays. I've just never used it.

My opinion for what its worth is that all the nastiness needs stamped straight out and then those that came only for that will give it up and move on.

But thats just my thought on it.

I suppose so, if they are genuinely coming to cause trouble then fair enough, but some people I think may want to actually talk about their cockapoos but have trouble with certain people/conversations. So i'm not sure what i'd do tbh, might use it if I think that's all the person is here for in future, we'll see.

The best time to use the report button is when you see these brand new members joining and attacking other members from their first posts. Other times it might not be as obvious, but it's still a good idea to report a post that is questionable so Kendal (or I) can look at it.

Good luck in your quest here. I've reported nasty posts for months now and it hasn't made the slightest difference to the nastiness on here, sadly.
