Darla has started what I call 'dry humping' one of her toys.

Not at all concerned about it but was just wondering why?

Background:
Darla is 9 months old now.
Female
Only does it to one toy (a monkey)
Neutered (at 6 months)

She will just walk upto it dry hump for a few seconds and walk off.
If I had a male dog I would kind of expect it but a female dog?

Any answers? Thoughts?

gypsy trys to hump our cat sometimes and echo humps mu brothers gielfriends dog totts. for them it domonence. echo only started it after she saw little amber playing with totts, so its like she is trying to clame her.
i peesonaly discurege it, for gypsy i just have to make a noise but echo i have to take her by the collar and take her off totts.
other people just let them get on with it and say its natural and funny to watch.

Benny likes to hump the pillows on the furniture in our house. He only does it when no one's around though. When someone walks into the room he looks at you like "whoops! You caught me!" and stops. It's funny when we come home from work and find the pillows all over the place. We know Benny was busy while we were gone. :P

Milo likes to hump his doggy blanket. Females will hump things as well...it is a dominance thing.

Toffee jumps on my labradoodles back when on the settee and has a go lol, no idea why either!
