We have just got back from a visit to the pet shop.....again!!! and we met a cavachon puppy, cavalier X bichon, I had never heard of this cross before and chatting to her owner she originally wanted a cockapoo but couldn't find one.....but this dog is sooooper cute, absolutely beautiful!!!!!!
Has anyone else heard of them?
Yes, I investigated them along with Cavapoos. Think they end up being quite small because of the Bichons in them. Bichons are supposed to be wonderful dogs, very zippy!
Marcus took one look and said 'no'.

I was going to put on the end of my post.....Turi do not look, it will confuse things:D:D
The one I saw was only 4.5 months old and I thought about same size as some cockapoos of that age. I guess it is the same with any mix it depends on size of parents etc, she may have been from a bigger cavalier.

Yes we were looking into them as one of our choices for our 2nd dog after meeting a pair.
It's how we came across Cavapoos really whilst looking on the internet about Cavachons.

Bichons are fabulous dogs (some can be a bit yappy though). My Mum used to show/hobby breed them years ago before they became really popular. I remember people stopping and asking us what they were, "is it a poodle?" they would ask, just like they now ask what cockapoos are ;). Trouble is they only come in white which is how I ended up looking in to poodle cross breeds and discovered cockapoos! Having said all that I did read about a Bichon Noir a few months back but not sure if it was a joke?

One came to puppy class once... it was sooooooo cute and I was starting to
think that could be my next dog... I bumped in to a lady a few days later
and asked her what her dog was ...a cavachon she said... well it looked nothing like the one in class and was really REALLY ugly...( the sort of face
only a mother could love - as they say)..I know it sounds wicked but it did put me off!!!
Karen – you’ve got me foiled! Am I so predictable?!
Clare- I think one of the problems of the Bichon is the cut, but that’s just my opinion. I wonder how they would look if they weren’t brushed as much and trimmed a lot shorter...? P.S. Love your new profile pic - Obi looks gorgeous x
Colin – I think that’s the risk of getting a cross-breed. There’s no 100% solid guarantee how it will turn out looks-wise. I’m sure owners love their dogs just the same however they turn out....?!

Alfie's a bichon x shitzhu - he's called a zuchon or something similar... He is mega cute and I love him dearly but he is a total eccentric! I reckon he's got OCD - along with separation anxiety, acute yappiness and 'where's Mummy fixation'. We got Rupert hoping he'd be a calming/sensible influence. It's worked to some extent but now they've both got separation anxiety and clinginess... Oh and the other thing about bichons is they're a devil to keep well groomed.

Our neighbours son has a Cockachon, it's a loverly dog but tiny. It was their dog that started us looking into getting a crossbreed. And when we decided to get another dog we looked at all the combinations but I'm glade we went for another Cockapoo.:)
