I have a very new, very smart phone - Samsung Galaxy GIO (bought it thinking it was chocolate, obviously!)
Being such a whizz, (not) I worked out how to take photos and video (eventually) and would love to share them. Unfortunately, the instruction manual assumes that the user knows how to work the stupid thing (in which case, why would you need the booklet?!) I had the brainwave (a rarity for me) of emailing them to myself, then using photobucket, but the files are too big! Anyone able to help?

you can email them to photobucket, or if you know how to downlode an app for photobucket you can upload direct from your phone. i think i might be getting a the galay for my xmas.

you should have a cable that you can connect to your computer with the phone, and then upload the pics directly to your computer. I'm surprised the files are too large to email, do they give you an option to size them?

Have you tried searching on google for instructions, or you might find a helpful youtube video showing you how. Thats what I had to do when I got my iphone. All the technology is wasted on me!

My phone is an HTC but it might work the same. I would send them to your pc first by email and then you can resize the pictures before putting them on photobucket. Either you can attach your phone using a usb lead that would have come with your phone or you should be able to email them to yourself. If I tap on the photo or video I can choose an option to share the video via Facebook, blutooth, email or send to Flickr. If you email it to yourself you could then try and upload it via your pc? Photobucket do have a free app for Android which I have just discovered so maybe you could download that and see how it goes? I will have a try with it as it might be a useful app to have. Sorry I can't help anymore than this. I also can't resize my photos and videos but there might be an app for this too, I will have a look. xx

I have a BlackBerry but use the Photobucket app as when i select send on a video it gives me the option to send as an email, or directly to Twitter/Fb/Photobucket so i find this tbe easiest way to get things uploaded.
Good luck!!!

It won't send videos by email - says file is too large!

##Geek time!!
If you go to http://photobucket.com/mobile/apps/android/#android it gives you instructions on how to install the Photobucket app onto Android phones. This should let you upload the photos directly from your phone. (Just make sure you have a good data bundle on your contract so you don't get charged for the uploads)

I think you will have to download it via direct cable then or try the Photobucket app. The app may automatically reduce the file size? I am just having a go with the App, so far so good. When I tap the video and choose share, Photobucket comes up as one of the options. :) When I go into the app itself, all my photos are there and I can see my video downloading. :)
Have you tried to find the app? I am presuming you are on Android. xx

What is a data bundle?
To upload pics, browse the internet, email or download apps, you use "data." Your mobile contract will include a certain amount in a "data bundle" - such as 500MB data per month plus something like 500 texts.
As long as that number is big enough, you'll be fine (or you could upload them over a home WiFi network but that's a completely different story!!!)

?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????
I have unlimited internet access, is that what you mean? I did say I'm a technophobe....
I've just put a load of photos from photobucket (taken on camera, not phone!) onto new thread, pressed something  and it's gone! Bah, I'm going to bed - will try again tomorrow!

If you are on an unlimited package then it shouldn't be a problem. Try the app, it was very simple. Try again tomorrow. xxx
