Hi after yet another child breaking bones on a trampoline (my daughter broke her leg, nephew broken foot and friend broken leg) thats 3 this summer i have had experience with, just thought I would warn all you parents, child and dog, out there to be vigilant if you have a trampoline.
My vet also told me he gets lots of dogs in from trampoline accidents, either from bouncing on one with the kids and jumping off, hurting themselves to going crazy and running around barking underneath the trampoline and then....getting squashed when a child bounces on them :( which can obviously be very serious, with injured heads, necks, backs and legs.
We were thinking about getting a trampoline until this summer!!!! Definately not now:)
So just thought I would say as I would hate to hear of anymore accidents, be safe ;)

Trampoline are dangerous toys for the garden and I don't think people give it enough though. I grew up doing a bit of gymastics and trampolining and we were always taught the dangers first and foremost and how to 'spot' when someone else was on them. You got a right telling off if you didn't pay attention.

I don't think people give the dangers much thought and I certainly wouldn't allow a dog and person on at the same time. You don't always have control of where you land

We have had a break of a couple of years of having a trampoline and then my daughter decided she wanted another so we have given in but now we have the 2 dogs we have bought a special netting that goes around the underneath of the trampoline to stop dogs and young children getting under, so the kids can hopefully happily bounce on top without squashing anything underneath the trampoline. We purchased ours from ebay and it was not very expensive and really easy to fit.

Oh Karen, that's horrible, three accidents! I agree they can be dangerous and I resisted for a long time before eventually caving in and getting one.

With safety in mind I went for a Springfree trampoline. They have a clever design that uses flexible fibreglass rods that are well below the jumping surface so there are no springs or frames at all. Expensive but worth it in my opinion.
Have a look at this, http://www.springfreetrampoline.co.uk/

All the same, you still need to supervise young children and Obi is strictly forbidden to go on it or under it.

We have a trampoline but it has a net all the way round (i would never let them on unless the net was on) must say my kids are not that adventurous and only go up and down with afew sits in there now and again.
Girl up the road broke her wrist last year (they had no net).

Thats awful about the poor child who broke his neck.

All tampolines involved had nets, Molly didn't even fall off, a mis timed bounce was the reason for her, more than one child bouncing.....one goes up as one comes down and SNAP!:(

Sorry didnt realise , yea you def have to watch if more then one child on there.

My son has Cystic Fibrosis and so we use it for his exercise as it really makes him breath heavily.
