was in the forge today and we wen to the wee petshop in the indoor market to look at the fish and lizerds etc, them mum pointed to my feet, and right where i was standing was a window with a kitten, just one we gray one (so like a cat we have at the cattery at the moment but with out the wee white makings on his face) was shocked to see the we thing there, as i havent seen a itten in a pet shop since i was in primary school as we got some of our kittents form a pet shop in falkirk.
was heartbroken to leave it behind as it was just curled up sleeping, mum asked about it just to be nosey, 7 weeks old, vaccinated, fully fleed £90. we have contacted a frined at the sspca as im not sure if it is legal to sell kittens in pet shops anymore.

Poor little thing. I've just googled it but can't find anything that states its illegal. But a lot of people are not happy with it either. You're right to contact the RSPCS they'll know the anwser for sure.
£90 sounds a lot to me.

Our local pet shop sells kittens and puppies. In fact when we were looking for cockapoos they had a litter of black cockapoos. They have a special licence to sell puppies but I'm not sure they need one for kittens.

Drove past a pet shop yesterday that advertised it sold kittens ,likewise I have nt seen that for years. A couple of years a go, however, we went to a large superstore, really thinking they'd have a large collection of leads etc only to find that they had about 20 glass fronted pens with litters in, different breeds, no mums, no toys and some only had one pup in.... really wished i had nt looked and my daughter was really upset x

i dont think its illegal for petshops to sell kittens unfortunately, But kittens should not be taken away from their mothers until they are 12 weeks old, also the kitten should not have been vaccinated at such a young age:mad:, they should be done at either 8 and 11 weeks or 9 and 12 weeks, so maybe you could report them for this?

the girl we know got back to us she is going to look in to the detales of the legal stuff about kittens and pet shops, she said they do need a licence but she doesnt know how well regulated it is.
the kitten looked heathy it had a litter tray, its pen was abou the size of two petshop fish tanks side by side so i think it sould have been in a bigger pen and it was at feet level. hope to hear more tomorrow. realy wish i had taken a photo now, i think i was just so surprized to see him their.
ah just checked with my mum and im wrong it wasnt vaccinnated they said "fully vet checked and no flees" sorry mum was out when i posted. but it was 7 weeks acording to them

I wasn't allowed to have my cat until he was 13 weeks so that he'd had his jags. Poor wee kitty :(
